Louis XVI is Back is the first creation by DE LUSSAC Studio in partnership with PERCHEBOIS. It is a play of opposites: an ancient style with an innovative design, blending history and contemporary craftsmanship.

· How?
The chair adopts the classic Louis XVI shape but is constructed using very thin oak lamellae, each unique, requiring meticulous adjustment and assembly to recreate the three-dimensional form of the original chair. The oak’s natural hardness is balanced by these fine lamellae, creating flexibility, a gentle massaging effect, and comfort while maintaining durability.

The design simulates slight wear in the lamellae, creating a contrast between the “new” look of the wood and the aged profile of the traditional Louis XVI chair. From the front, the chair appears delicate; from the side, it seems more substantial. The lamellae are made of 100% oak plywood, using an innovative gluing process with 0.6mm oak sheets.

While digital files guide the cutting, the assembly is entirely artisanal, carried out by skilled cabinetmakers. All wood is sourced locally and PEFC-certified.
