Mosquito Bulb
Client: Bell&Wyson
Year: 2016
Field: Product Design
· What?
When mosquitoes get stubborn, there’s no need to surrender to insecticide tyranny — Mosquito Bulb repels them gently and intelligently.
· How?
Using a molecular cocktail, Mosquito Bulb mimics human scent to attract mosquitoes, then sucks them in with a fan that destroys them. The insects are collected in a magnetized container that can be easily emptied.
Connected via Wi-Fi, the ConnectLed BWPix sends a photo notification to the user’s smartphone when motion is detected within its field of view. Thanks to low-consumption LED technology (9W), the BWPix is both energy-efficient and powerful, delivering up to 800 lumens.
· With whom?
In collaboration with Bell & Wyson, creators of innovative connected objects.
With the belief that connected devices should be part of daily life, Bell & Wyson has built its strategy around LED bulbs featuring practical, efficient add-on functions. Like the other Bell & Wyson smart products, the ConnectLed BWPix can be remotely controlled (light on/off, brightness, white-yellow tone adjustment, remote listening via the built-in microphone, and photo capture with the camera).
· The designer’s word: “Essential for Mosquito Island!”
