· What?

In the beginning, there was furniture… When Studio DE LUSSAC was founded in 2000, furniture design was at the very heart of its work — with creations either self-published or developed for prestigious brands such as RocheBobois. It was the studio’s first creative playground, a space for exploring form, material, and function.

Over the years, the studio has evolved. Jewelry, luxury, and later innovation through connected objects have broadened its creative approach.Today, Studio DE LUSSAC contributes to cutting-edge projects in automotive design (with NamX), green energy, and now in private jet interiors (with LuxaviationFrance).Yet, furniture remains an essential part of our DNA.

· How?

Introducing “Sabi”, the latest creation by Studio DE LUSSAC — a sofa inspired by the Japanese art of living.Wout Accou, lead designer at DE LUSSAC Studio, explains:“Sabi 寂 refers to the serene beauty of simple things, gracefully marked by time. That is the spirit we aimed to capture.”ThomasdeLussac adds:“Its low profile evokes the Zaisu, the legless chairs used on tatami mats.

Its inviting forms recall the futon — a symbol of calm and a grounded connection to space. Its soft curves and natural wood are rooted in the wabi-sabi aesthetic, where restraint and tranquility prevail.”But “Sabi” is also multifunctional. The rear platform is perfect for storing books, plants, or everyday objects. At the front, a wooden or marble surface offers space for a cup, a laptop, or a notebook. It’s a sofa that defines the room — adaptable, elegant, and serene — supporting multiple uses without overwhelming the space.“Sabi” is more than a piece of furniture: it is a setting, a moment, a balance.
