· What?
Founded by Faouzi Annajah and Thomas de Lussac, NamX is a new hydrogen-powered automotive brand — a "Full Stack" company offering premium vehicles combined with an easy refueling system based on dedicated hydrogen capsules.
· How?
Studio DE LUSSAC created the initial design of the HUV (Hydrogen Utility Vehicle), inspired by 1960s American muscle cars and science fiction — the two main sources of inspiration for designer Thomas de Lussac. The result is a style described as retro-futuristic.
The design was then finalized by Pininfarina, the most renowned automotive design studio in the world, adding a touch of European elegance and refined lines, brought to life through a stunning prototype.
Pursuing the best possible user experience, Studio DE LUSSAC also designed CapX, the revolutionary hydrogen capsule refueling and exchange system.
This innovation addresses the lack of hydrogen stations — which are too expensive to deploy — one of the main barriers to the development of hydrogen mobility.
The CapX hydrogen capsules can be swapped in under two minutes and will be easily accessible through a distribution network unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 2022.
The vehicle’s maximum range reaches 800 km (≈500 miles).
NamX offers clean mobility without the drawbacks of large electric batteries — which are costly to produce and recycle, take too long to charge, and offer limited range.
